Androgen replacement therapy (ART), often referred to as testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), is a form of hormone therapy in which androgens, often Testo , are supplemented or replaced. It typically involves the administration of steroid through injections, skin creams, patches, gels, pills, or subcutaneous pellets. ART is often prescribed to counter the effects of male hypogonadism .ART is also prescribed to lessen the effects or delay the onset of normal male aging. However, this is controversial and is the subject of ongoing clinical trials.
Why do people need testosterone replacement therapy?
Potential benefits include improved libido, increased bone mass, and increased sense of well-being. In individuals with human immunodeficiency virus infection or other chronic diseases, testos has been shown to improve mood and energy levels, even in patients with normal testosterone levels.
Many men report improvement in energy level, sex drive, and quality of erections. Testosterone also increases bone density, muscle mass, and insulin sensitivity in some men. Men also often report an improvement in mood from replacement therapy.
Do you need ART or not
You may need testosterone therapy (TT) if you have Low-T. Both the FDA and the AUA suggest that TT be used to treat conditions you are born with, such as Klinefelter syndrome. You also may need TT if you harm or lose your testicles. If your testicles are removed because of a sickness such as cancer, you may need TT.
The first few things you will notice if you are testosterone-deficient include loss of muscle mass and increase in body fat and weight. You may also have mild anemia or a decrease in your hemoglobin, as well as significant changes in your cholesterol levels.
